Crossing Gina Atwater (Writer/Director)

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Gina Atwater received her M.F.A. from the Film Program at Columbia University's School of the Arts in 2011. She has written and/or directed five short films that have screened at numerous festivals around the country. Her latest film CROSSING received a National Board of Review Student Grant and was a Semifinalist in the 38th Annual Student Academy Awards. Before that, her film JOY IN THE MORNING won the 2009 HBO Student Film Competition at the Savannah Film Festival and was featured on BET.com as part of that network's Lens on Talent Program. Her original TV pilot SAINTS was nominated for the Humanitas Prize, and her feature script ALL THAT GLITTERS won the Zaki Gordon Award for Excellence in Screenwriting.

A native of Lima, Julio O. Ramos, left his country and his journalist career to come to the US and become a filmmaker. He graduated with honors from Columbia College of Chicago and now pursues his MFA at the prestigious UCLA's Film School. Julio's first year film, El Bolerito (The Shoe Shiner), won the jury prize at the 2010 DGA Annual Student Awards. His second year film, ¡Una Carrerita, Doctor! Viet got his film degree in his hometown at the University of Texas in Austin. Writer/Director DEBBY WOLFE'S short films have screened in numerous film festivals worldwide including Tribeca, the BET Urbanworld Film Festival, and the HBO NYC Latino Film Festival. As a Story Producer, Debby has worked on reality projects for CBS, Discovery, and Current TV. In digital media, Debby wrote and directed the web series GirlTalk, which became one of the most downloaded podcasts on iTunes Kids and Family. This success led her to writing and producing the DVD/Web series Raven-Symone Presents for MRC. With her feature screenplays, Debby was an American Zoetrope Screenplay Competition finalist and is currently a finalist for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab. Sterlin Harjo belongs to the Creek and Seminole Nations and is a native of Holdenville, Oklahoma. Camille Brown graduated from UCLA's Film and Television school. She made her directorial debut in 2000 with her award-winning documentary A Second Chance At Life, narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. Camille has worked in all phases of production, though writing and directing is her passion. In 2009 she completed her narrative short film Thank You for Washing, which she wrote, directed, produced and edited. Recently she completed several feature scripts, including a kids' adventure and a romantic comedy.

COLLECTOR Dempsey Tillman (Director/Writer)

Dempsey Tillman's award-winning directorial triumph, Collector, has screened in over 30 film festivals around the world, garnering 16 awards including five "Best Short Film" Awards," "Best Director," "Best Cinematography," "Best Sound Design," and three "Awards of Excellence". Dempsey has a flair for drama, science fiction, the supernatural, the fantastical. He's one of a growing number of young African-American emerging directors contributing diversity and talent to Hollywood's film community.

INTERPRETATION Lin Oeding (Director/Writer)

Lin Oeding is an Asian-American filmmaker currently residing in Los Angeles. He is a graduate of the screenwriting and film directing program at the University of Texas at Austin. Since graduating and moving to Los Angeles in 2002, Lin quickly gained a vast amount of set experience by working as a stuntman on over 80 feature films and television shows such as The Last Samurai, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3, Fast and Furious 3 & 4, Tropic Thunder and Collateral. Being bi-racial (Chinese-Taiwanese and German-Dutch) and having lived and filmed in over 17 countries, Lin brings a blend of culture, philosophy and action to his unique perspective on storytelling.

MAGELLAN Sebastian Davis (Director/Writer)

Sebastian Davis moved from a small township in England to Atlanta, Georgia at the formative age of 10. After high school he went on to study Journalism and Film Studies at Stanford University, before moving to Los Angeles to work as assistant to legendary producer Roger Corman. Subsequently, he spent a season as director's assistant on the CBS hit-show "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," before finally settling down in the USC graduate film program for directing. Sebastian is a 2-time Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker Finalist, and has most recently worked as a staff writer for Current TV. "Magellan" is his USC graduate thesis film.

Hector Montaño Jaramillo Originally from Torreon, Coahuila (México), Hector graduated from the Faculty of Visual Arts at UANL. His experience with the camera has landed him collaborations in marketing campaigns as well as institutional videos for local museums. With an assistant director credit in the short film La niña que canta (The Girl that Sings), and another one as camera assistant in the feature film El cuarto obscuro (The Dark Room), Hector is also the proud director of two short films made in the state of Nuevo Leon, Hermanas (Sisters) and ¿Tiene usted una pluma? (Do You Have a Pen?).

Fabian is a graduate of the Film Studies program at the University of California, Irvine. His first feature-length screenplay was the Sundance Film Festival indie film BETTER LUCK TOMORROW, released theatrically by MTV Films and Paramount Pictures. He then went on to write the screenplay for the short film JOHNNY FLYNTON, which was nominated for an Academy Award in 2003 ("Best Short, Live Action"). LITTLE BONES marks his directorial debut. Owen Thomas is a San Francisco bay area native who got his start performing with the San Francisco Boys Chorus at the age of 6. After graduating from UC Berkeley, and working as a musician for many years, Owen eventually began working as an actor, which lead to his writing and directing "The Road" with Theoretical Films. Owen currently lives in his hometown of Berkeley, California.

Iman Zawahry was born in Panama City, Florida in 1980. In 1998, she moved to Gainesville, FL to attend the University of Florida where she received a BA in Religion and Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. Upon graduation Iman worked with Bridges TV, the first American Muslim Television network, as a free-lance journalist. In 2006 Iman attended Florida State University Film School and has directed three short films, of which "Tough Crowd" was awarded an Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Student Emmy Award. "Tough Crowd" has also been accepted at this year's DC Shorts Film Festival and the 12th Annual Arab Film Festival. Currently, Iman won the Princess Grace Award and will be shooting a short film in the fall.
